History

Many years ago, Birchtown Stables was known as "The Polednak Farm" full of valuable cows for milking.  The heart of this farm was the owners Michael and Helen Polednak, Jessica's grandparents.  As was the story for many farms in the area and around the United State; business began to hurt, which left only a rich land for hay to neighboring farms to have.

The main farm house, where Jessica's grandparents live, is located near the barn where the cattle was raised.  Jessica grew up on a portion of the land located across the street; in which she still resides now.  From the age of 12; Jessica educated herself about horses.  As years passed, she enjoyed many shows and spent a great deal of time learning how to jump, feed, care, and respect the horses.

With support from her grandparents, her father, Robert Polednak, and mother, Karen Goskowski Polednak; Jessica was granted the opportunity to fix up the old barn and keep a few stalls for her own horses.  The hard work was a test of Jessica's capabilities; which was quite challenging for a young girl of 16 years of age, but her love for the animal kept her focused.  In the next four years, Jessica acquired her own transportation for the horses and an outdoor arena.  Her calling for this life, became more and more evident to the family as she continued with her dedication with her horses.   A strong support from further family members grew as she began to take over the old farm barn and began to make it look as a respectable stable.  A set back for the family of her loss of her Grandmother, Helen Polednak, caused an emptiness to the farm.  Her grandfather, now alone, found himself more involved to help with his nervousness to stay busy, which in turn helped Jessica to stay inspired about the horses and her future.

Jessica eventually lead herself into the research of owning her own equestrian facility.  Her intentions were to stay on this land for her life of the future and having horses around her all the time would bring joy to herself and to the land.  Her general family business knowledge and courage has been offered to her by her grandparents, aunt, and mother.  Her grandparents, Josephine and Michael Goskowski, are the founders of Kartri Sales Co., Inc.  They have successfully lead this manufacturing company for over 30 years in the hospitality trade.  Today, their daughters, Karen Goskowski Polednak and Trish Goskowski Kubus, are the second generation in which have accepted in the continuation of success in their place.  Courage, patience, understanding, and faith has lead this family over hills of obstacles, that has reflected into Jessica the great possibilities she can accomplish.

In purchasing the land; Jessica gained further support from her Uncle Rev. John Polednak and Grandfather Michael Polednak.  They gave her a warm welcome to see this rich land become busy with a new prosperous business.  The "Polednak Farm" was one of the oldest cow barns in the area, and it is now rebuilt from 40 stanchions to horse stalls.  The once known as "The Milk Farm", it will now be "The Horse Stable".  Transformation that has brought comfort and happiness to the family.

In 2006 the birth of Birchtown Stables Inc., began with large construction to do an indoor arena and new installation of stalls to reach 17 total.  The year of 2007 was full of hard work for the entire family.  Much physical labor and special attention was contributed to Jessica by her father, Robert Polednak, he directed the construction to assure the reality of Birchtown Stables.  The entire family is grateful to many vendors and contractors for their help.

The future expectation for Birchtown Stables Inc., is endless to Jessica.
